- The main difference between all poker games is basically the payout table, therefore, you have to take the payout scale into great consideration when playing a video poker game and try to learn how to read the pay-table.
- Try to play the video poker machines that have a payout of 98% or more.
- There are a variety of video poker games available so you'd better find out which one you enjoy playing the most and if you are a beginner start with free or low stake games until you gain some experience and then move on to high stake video pokers.
- Play with high stake when winning and lower stakes when loosing.
- In your hand you shouldn't hold a kicker (a high card) with any pair because it reduces your return by 5%.
- If you have a straight in your hand don't break it for a chance of a straight flush.
- If your cards are a flush don't break them for straight flush (keep your current win).
- If you have four cards towards flush but three of them are to a royal flush then you should go for the royal flush.
- Here are some tips for Jacks or Better:
(1) If you have a pat hand* you must keep all the cards except if you have four cards to make a Royal Flush then draw one new card.
(2) If there are 3 of a kind in your hand then hold them and draw the other two. (3) If you have a pair even if their value is low and the other cards are higher then you'd better keep the pair and discard the rest
because in the long run it makes you more money. (4) If you have no win and not even a low pair then just keep your highest card (as long as it is a Jacks or Better)
(5) If you have no wins and two different Jacks or Better cards then just keep one of them.
- These are a few tips for Deuces Wild:
(1) Keep all pat hands unless you are one card away from a Royal Flush (2) Keep any deuces you have
(3) If you get four cards towards a Royal Flush with one or two deuces then go for it and draw the one card. (4) Never keep two high cards that are not a pair (unless one/both
are deuces). (5) Hold just one card only if it is a deuce and you have no win or low pairs
- A few useful strategies for Tens or Better:
(1) You should keep a pat hand if you have got one. (2) Keep any four cards to Royal Flush and break anything else even flush or straight.
(3) If there are three of a kind in your hand draw two new cards. (4) Draw one card when you have four cards to Straight Flush. (5) Two pairs then draw one card. (6) If you have a Ten or Better then draw three cards and break any other hands except the ones above. (7) If your hand has three cards towards Royal Flush then draw two cards.
(8) Four cards to Royal Flush you should take a new card. (9) With four cards including three faces (King, Queen and Jack) draw one card. (10) If you have a pair draw three cards.
- Strategies for Deuces and Joker Wild: (Wild Card Hands)
(1) Keep all pat hands. (2) If you get four Deuces then keep them and draw one new. (3) For three Deuces and a Joker draw one new card. (4) When you get three Deuces and two invaluable cards only keep the
Deuces. (5) In case of having two Deuces and a Joker, draw two cards. (6) With four of a kind and one or two wild cards, draw one new card. (7) If your hand is four cards to Royal Flush with one or two wild cards
then draw one new card. (8) When you have only two Deuces and the rest of the cards are invaluable you'd better keep the two's and draw three new. (9) For one Deuce and one Joker, draw three cards.
(10) If you have four cards to a Straight Flush and one wild card then take one new. (11) With three of a kind and a wild card, draw two cards. (12) When you have three cards to a Royal Flush and a wild card, draw two cards.
(13) If there are four cards to a Straight and one wild card, take one card. (14) Four cards to a Flush with one wild card, you would need to get a card. (15) When there are three cards to Straight Flush with one wild card, draw two cards.
(16) If you only have one Deuce / Joker then you have to draw four cards.
